Tea is more than a drink — it’s a teacher.

Hello World Featured Image

Nami means “wave” in Japanese — but more.

It can also signify something beautiful, like the movements and gentle curves of the wave.

Tea is art.

When I first started my tea studies back in 2010, I dove in so deep I forgot the art part for a while and went straight to the science, the engineering, the chemistry. There is so much of that in tea — down to the earth where the plant grows, the minerals making your water hard or the temperature burning or gently steaming your leaves.

Still, tea is art. The more I studied, the closer I got to that realisation. In the end, you must pour hot water on leaves.

Nami is a vessel created to spread tea knowledge in a compact, respectful format.

Our tea sessions are organised by level (beginner, intermediate and advanced) and by theme — different teas, regions etc. While we do touch on traditions and customs, our sessions do not entail spiritual practices. We focus on tea.

Please feel free to reach out for a tailored experience, or browse our upcoming tea sessions on Fienta!

Yours,

Siret, Founder of Nami Tea House
